Well, that was the look I was thinking I was going for with this card. I wanted to make the light brighter so it looked like it was lightening the whole area up but it doesn't make it. Oh well! I told you Dina's card was much better than mine!

I am an avid moose collector! My home has a moose theme throughout the living room, dining room and kitchen. My family and friends seem to know what to buy me and I have received plenty of moose gifts over the years. I even have a separate moose tree at Christmas with all moose themed ornaments!!
When I saw that Hanna Stamps had released a bunch of moose stamps, with the super cool name of Riley, I headed right on over! I ordered the Riley with the cupcake and the one flying the airplane! How darn cute can you get?
I have been seeing a lot of Riley's that have been paper pieced. I had never done paper piecing before so what a great time to give it a try. I stamp 2 Riley's - one on watercolor paper and one onto designer paper (BasicGrey 2 Scoops) and cut out all the parts of the chair. After I colored in Riley with my only 2 colors of Copic markers that I have (bought especially for him - Sepia and Sand) I taped the dp's pieces on top of the coloored in Riley. Tah Dah! I just LOVE how it matches. I'm all about the matching! lol!!
I thought Riley needed some more dimension so I stamped another Riley, colored him in and than just cut his head out and popped him up with none other than Dimensionals!
Stamps: Hanna Stamps Riley
Paper: Blue Bayou, Certainly Celery, BasicGrey 2 Scoops
Ink: Versafine Black
Other: Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder, Copic markers, dimensionals, SU markers

I told you how much I love the Poison Ivory cardstock so I wanted to show you a card I made with it. My inspiration was from fellow SCS'er Susie B's card that is just one of MANY that she has made using her Cuttlebug folders. You might say she is the Queen of the Cuttlebug! lol!! You must check out her gallery, it is fabulous!
I started with the 41/2" x 11'' Ivory cardstock put into the Swiss Dot folder sideways and ran it through the cuttlebug. After, I used my Score Pal to score the 2 sets of double lines. I just love the Ivory ribbon I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I had a tough time choosing my image for the main focal point. It is very difficult finding small images! I finally decided on the 3 step butterfly from a SU Simple Sketches. The butterfly piece is matted on Azalea Stardream Metallic paper from Cutcardstock. com (another Trudee enabling purchase!!). Oh yes, and the little Thanks word is a small Cuttlebug folder I bought at my local Joann's.
The card is much more shimmery and ivory looking in real life..trust me! I am still not crazy about the butterfly image but it matches the Azalea paper and I'm all about matching!!
Thanks for visiting today!

There is a Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge going on over at my favorite website, Splitcoaststampers! I had read about in Sharon Johnson's blog and, of course, I just had to check it out. As I have gotten older I have become more spiritual. I do attend mass about 2-4 mornings a week with Rick. It is at 8:00 and only a half hour long. It is a great way to start the day.
Although I am a month behind (already!) I thought this would be a neat challenge to do. I like Bible Verses that make sense to me and are something I can understand. Sometimes I am not quite sure what they are talking about! lol!!
I used one of the verses from my upcoming stamp release "On Eagle's Wings" for my first challenge card. I was thinking of the sky and so I went with some Basic Grey with a lot of blue colors on them. Thanks for visiting me today!!
Stamps: SU Land That I Love, Our Daily Bread designs On Eagle's Wings
Ink: SU Craft Chocolate Chip
Paper: SU Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Basic Grey Periphery
Other: Textile Folder, Round Nestabilities, Making Memories Brads

How's that for a cute sentiment!! I just love these cutle little stamps from All That Scraps! This one is called "Love Ya Lots" and the other one is "Wintertime Fun".
I made these for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This is the first challenge I have EVER done!! Now that I'm home I have more time for these fun things!! I really like to make square cards, even if they cost 17 cents more at the post office!
I bought one of those Stamp Critter's and finally received it after waiting 5 weeks! I guess they were totally overwhelmed with orders but are catching up now. I am trying to figure out to use it. Does anybody have one? When I get some stamps made I'll post it here and a card sample (if it comes out good)!
I missed my Wednesday Winner yesterday as I had a horrible headache but am better today.
Stamps: All That Scraps "Love Ya Lots" and "Wintertime Fun"
Paper: SU Outlaw for the lion card, Heide Grace Frost for the kitty card

I just love this little Lulu stamp from All That Scraps!! I normally do not like little cutie stamps. I usually go for the floral, pretty things but this one just spoke to me!!
I had mentioned that I need to start using my tons of hoarded paper! I did use this for Christmas cards a little but have plenty left! I like it because it is "Shimmer Flocked Paper" so it has shininess and texture all in one!! I also just recently bought some of the textured Stampin' Up paper. I'm lovin' it!!
Hope you are having a great weekend. Rick has a bad cough and cold Trying to get over it. He actually took a 1/2 sick day off on Thursday. That is unheard of with him!!
Stamps: Little Bits Wintertime Fun
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Papertrey white, Heidi Grace Frost Blvd.
Ink: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Versamark, Going Gray, Chocolate Chip
Other: Sugar Coated glitter, black EP, Cuttlebug, Snowflake folder, rectangle nestabilities, white organdy ribbon

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to start commenting on SCS member's cards and on blogs! I have been doing pretty good so far!
Another resolution was to stop hoarding my designer paper and start USING it!! Well, I bought the Cosmo Cricket and although I did use a lot of my Wanted paper I still had plenty of Gretel sitting around waiting.
I had a card of Joan Ervin's in My Favorites for quite awhile so I decided to CASE it and use up at least some of my precious paper.
I used the Hansel paper on this card and made all the ovals with my Nestabilities. Yes, I finally broke down and bought the entire oval set. I think I need to sell all my Giga and Mega punches since they will probably be seeing a lot of dust now!
I also have an obsessive problem with Dimensionals. I overdose on them on many of my cards. On this card in particular I popped up the Chocolate Chip layer, and each layer of the Thank You oval design. I used to crazy about Hodgepodge Hardware but I'm pretty much over with that one!! lol!! (Did I mention I like to sponge a lot too?)
Stamps: Best Blossoms, Garden Silhouettes
Ink: So Saffron, Ruby Red, Palette Burnt Umber (sentiment), Tim Holt distress Ink Walnut Stain (sponging)
Paper: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Cosmo Cricket Hansel
Other: Oval Nestabilities, Hodgepodge Hardware, Ribbon from Archivers, Making Memories Brads, Dimensionals
OK, here is the real CASE card that it so close to Joan's!! I did change it by using different brads, changed the main image and the sentiment. I know, I am a total copycat!! :P

Well, I could tell you that I was on a carribean cruise or some other exotic vacation but no, that was not the case. I spilled my iced tea all over my keyboard on my laptop and had to wait until the Dell Guy came and fixed it.
I have a group of cards that I am going to post today. I had made up a bunch of samples to demonstrate the Mulberry Batik technique found here on SCS.
In Erika's tutorial she used watercolor crayons, which I have, but did not use. I did try them but I liked it better using my reinkers. The colors were so much more bold and intense!! I love the feathery look of the mulberry paper!
I actually made a lot but I will show you my 5 favorite ones. I hope you like them and will try this technique!
I cased Debil's layout for the first card but changed the stamps and the colors.
and one more!!!

Now this may seem like a strange thing to put on a card but it is really difficult sometimes to make a card for a guy! I think these are kind of weird but really cute at the same time!!
I followed Cambria's directions to make these little shirts. After the shirt was done I made a small slit in the front under the collar and folded those flaps back to make it more casual looking. You can also add a tie like Cambria did! It is best to use 2 sided
paper so you have a pattern on both sides of the shirt.
I had so much of the SU Au Chocolat paper (that I barely used) so I used that to make mine.
Again, not to much stamping but a cute card, nonetheless!
Stamps:PaperTrey
Paper: SU Au Chocolat, White, Chocolate Chip
Other: Cuttlebug folders Spots and Dots and Tiny Bubbles, SU Oval punches, dimensionals, SU CC ribbon, sponges (of course!)

These cards were so fun to make. I followed the SCS directions and they were quite easy! After you make a few you can figure out how to change the sizing and placement a little! I made some both vertically and horizontally!
I really like to make cards with different techniques. I usually give my more detailed cards to "special" people on my list who I know will enjoy it and appreciate the card.
I subscribe to Technique Junkies. If you have not heard of it by now, it is a newsletter type publication that you can receive at home and also view online. Every issue has many new techniques to try out on new cards. Pat Huntoon is the editor and somehow her and her writers keep coming up with new techniques all the time!!
I usually teach myself a technique, make a bunch of samples with it, than demonstrate it at my techniques class . We usually do 2-3 new techniques each class.
By the way, the Happy Birthday stamp is Paper Trey's Green Thumb set. The stamp actually says "Hoppy" birthday and I just use my SU Chocolate Chip marker to make it into "Happy". (There is a grasshopper in that set, hence he Hoppy word!) I like that little stamp though and use it a lot!
Again, lots of sponging her!! You would think I live in a Victorian type home or something but I don't! My house has a rustic, woodsy feel.
Stamps: SU Happy Harmony, PT Green Thumb, SU It's Your Birthday, SU Baroque Motifs, Gina K. Frames and Doodles
Paper: Basic Grey Blush, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal
Other: dimensionals, SU paper piercer, tools per the instructions.
Here is another Double Slider I made that I thought I would add to this post. This is an ancient SU set, Botanicals, that has been retired for a long time. Still one of my favorites, though!!
I cuttlebugged the So Saffron layer than lightly stamped on top of it with the Canvas background stamp that had been inked up with Cranberry Crisp.
The base, in Cranberry Crisp, was stamped with Fine Lace, inked in the same color.
The vanila layer was stamped with French Script with Mellow Moss.
I cased Laurie F.'s color scheme for this card.
Stamps: Botanicals, It's Your Birthday
Paper: Cranberry Crisp, So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Other: Hodgepodge Hardware, SU CC ribbon
